Iowa Abortion Access Fund (IAAF) services Iowa residents, along with 7 counties in Illinois, including the Rock Island, Henry, Mercer, Whiteside, Knox, Henderson and Warren counties.
IAAF grants are made directly to your care provider. The first step is to make an appointment at your abortion clinic and notify the clinic of your financial need. The clinic will provide you with a contact phone number for IAAF. When calling, you will hear instructions on how to leave a detailed voicemail for our team to return your call. Then, IAAF will work directly with you and the clinic to provide financial assistance. This application process is mandatory for the safety and privacy of all involved.
About Iowa Abortion Access Fund
The Iowa Abortion Access Fund was founded in 1978 and raises money for people accessing abortion throughout the state of Iowa and the Quad Cities. Like many abortion funds, the Iowa Abortion Access Fund began as a clergy consultation service in the days before Roe v. Wade, when abortion was illegal, referring pregnant people to clinics in other states and helping them make connections. Although no longer affiliated with specific liberal churches, when abortion became a legal option, the Fund continued to help anyone who needed financial assistance.
They are dedicated to the belief that the freedom to choose legal abortion should be available to everyone.
Iowa Abortion Access Fund's Community
Every year the Fund helps hundreds of pregnant people who would otherwise not have been able to afford an abortion.
The Iowa Abortion Access Fund is always looking for ways to spread its message and gain new supporters. Representatives from the Fund are available to speak to groups and organizations about their mission and work, and supporters hold events to raise money throughout the year.
